Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is excellent. Definitely deserves its Oscar Best Picture nomination. Film is about a boy with borderline Asperger's whose father (Tom Hanks) is killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11. The boy finds a key in a vase in his father's closet and sets out to find the lock that the keys fits into. He is obsessive in his pursuit and is estranging himself from his loving mother (Sandra Bullock).
He is trying to find a link to his beloved father. He gets the man renting a room from his single-mother German emigre grandmother to help him and who he believes is his runaway grandfather (Max von Sydow). He is also running away from his guilt over his father's death.
Excellent and a don't miss film. Superb acting, especially by the boy (Thomas Horn).

Haywire
asw — Thu, 01/26/2012 - 17:07I have to admit a lot of the commercial reviews weren't flattering of this movie. There is a scene with Sandra Bullock towad the end of the movie that will blow you away. It really got to me.
I had high expectations based on Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks participation. They have nothing to prove, so I expected and was rewarded with a spectacular story and very emotional afternoon.
Thomas Horn has a bright future in acting.
