City Island is a terrific indie comedy set in City Island, NY. Evidently there is this tiny suburb of NY City that is an island that was once a fishing village. Anyway, film centres around father/husband Vince Rizzo (Andy Garcia) who is a prison guard and dreams of being an actor. He is secretly taking an acting class but telling his wife that he is playing poker with his buddies. She is skeptical. While at acting class, Vince makes friends with a supportive sophisticated woman student.

Meanwhile, in prison where he works he finds the son he had by a girlfriend that he'd abandoned at 19. He takes this young man home but tells no one who he really is, just saying that he "knew his mother" many years ago. This 25 year old son is quite a hunk and gets the attention of both the wife and the daughter.

The college age daughter is home for spring break - or so her proud parents believe. She is really working as a stripper at a pole dancing club.

And the high school age son is in love with fat women and has secretly found a fat woman love sight starring his very obese next door neighbor.

As you can imagine, this is all going to blow up eventually. Very funny so don't miss this one.
