The Blind Side is a cute, entertaining true story about a bid black kid taken in by a well off family in Mississippi. It stars Sandra Bullock a strong willed well-to-do mother with two kids and a husband who made his money running 85 Taco Bells. Her kids go to an elite private Christian school. The school janitor gets his own son and another big black kid, nicknamed "Big Mike" into the school on scholarship.

The Big Mike becomes homeless and after the school Thanksgiving play, the well-off family sees this kid walking near the school clearly underdressed for the cold wet weather. They take him home and eventually he moves in for good.

The kid is a talented athlete, is very quiet, passive and absolutely abhors violence. His school preparation is abysmal but he is not dumb. So he is a tough call for the school football team. Between Mom Bullock and the tutor (played by Kathy Bates) the family hires, this kid becomes a star athlete and his grades improve. Soon is is scouted by all the universities in the South with big football teams.

This is a very nice, heartwarming story just in time for the feel good holiday season. It is somewhat Holly wood and Bullock comes on a bit strong, however it is still worth seeing.
