IGOR
Igor:
Igor, voiced by veteran actor John Cusack, as an animated hunchback who has dreams of becoming a mad scientist himself and winning an evil mas scientist award.
First I thought this was from the mind of Tim Burton, oops try again. Somewhat of a dark comedy it never really gets a hold on where it wants to go. The visuals are great, the mad scientist lab, electric lightening scenes, and of course , " Igor throw the switch". I found myself wandering mentally a lot in the movie as the script just didn't have that snappy nice paced drama that so many of the A list Pixar and Disney creations seem to have nor did it connect with the dark goth moods of Tim Burton. I think the script needed resurrecting and not Eva. What it does have are some great voices and voice acting from Steve Buscemi, and Eddie Izzard. Other notables are Jay Leno, John Cleese, Arsenio Hall,Christian Slater, Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon and as himself James Lipton.
Igor is frustrated as he does have the ability to create something new for the contest but is stuck as the lowly servant who throws the switch. When his master kills himself through an electrical accident, Igor gets his chance. He creates life, but Eva is not the evil monster that he envisioned and she needs to be brainwashed! So if you take the ride to the Kingdom of Malaria be forewarned. Enjoy the visuals, the movie is cute but just misses the mark..........
